Garrum Grumbleberry
Title: The Warden of the Low-Hanging Vines
The Lore
Garrum Grumbleberry is a figure of stubborn resilience and unexpected sweetness. A master of "Soil-Magic" and subterranean horticulture, he is the self-appointed protector of the Grumbleberry Thicket, a patch of enchanted briars known for producing fruit that tastes like honey but causes the consumer to speak in a low, grumbling bass for several hours.
Garrum spent decades as a stonemason before retiring to the quiet of the gardens. He is known for his "living concrete" technique—infusing stone with magical seeds so that moss and vines grow in structural patterns, reinforcing the walls of his home. Though he often grumbles about "meddling adventurers" trampling his seedlings, he is the first to offer a heavy stone bench and a tart berry tart to any traveler who shows proper respect for the earth.
Character Traits
-
The Grumble: He rarely speaks in a clear tone, preferring a low mumble that sounds like shifting gravel.
