The Lore

In the rural heartlands, the "Gleaner" is a symbol of a successful harvest. Lore tells of a minor celestial spirit who was sent to help the farmers gather their grain. Overwhelmed by the scent of sun-warmed hay and wild lavender, the spirit fell asleep mid-task. To honor this moment of peace, farmers placed these statues at the edge of their fields. It is believed that as long as the cherub sleeps, the "Hungry Shadows" of the forest will not bother the crops, thinking the harvest is already under heavenly guard.
